Pushing the Button: Protest Songs in Israel

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

From the beginning of the Zionist project one of the greatest priorities was consensus. But in the late 1960s  Israel was exposed to the loud voices of American rock 'n' roll and the civil rights and peace movements. We will trace these developments as reflected in Israeli popular songs, from "Shir La-shalom" to "There Must Be Another Way."
