Service learning is an experiential education model that combines community-based action with intentional learning and reflection activities. TELEM: Jewish Youth Making a Difference Together, is a service-learning program of the Jewish Community Relations Council designed for Jewish teens in the Greater Boston area. Based in over 25 Jewish educational institutions, TELEM programs have engaged over 3700 teens in service learning in its 6 years of operation.
This Limmud session will include a presentation on the general concept of service learning and a description of TELEM service learning programs. A panel of TELEM teens will share experiences and reflections on their participation in the program. The session will include questions, answers and conversation with panelists and TELEM staff
